Purchase: I bought a pair of the Ariat Crowne Field boots from Adams Saddlery as they were discontinuing that particlar season of boot. I have another pair of Ariat tall boots from many years ago and they had become to short for me. I was very impressed with the tall boots, both pair. The Crowne boots fit as if they were custom and looked great as well. I got the Crowne boots on sale for $379.00 but they are worth paying full retail price for.
Likes: The biggest draw to the Crowne field boot is the way they fit. They offer two heights. It is difficult to find tall booots for me because of my height, and the tall height is actually tall enough for me! The best part about this boot is the short break in period. In one weekend of horseshowing they were completely broken in. The foot bed is very comfortable and I can wear them all day at at a horseshow.
Dislikes: The only negative comment about the boots is the leather. The previous pair of Ariats I owned seemed to polish better and the lining was a better quality leather. The Crownes looked as if the leather was not as nice as the old Ariats but it is still better than the majority of boots on the market.
Quality: While I do feel the leather is not as high quality as I would like, the boots are made very well. The soles are durable and all of the seems are very well stitched.
Summary: As a trainer, I recommend these boots to all of my kids. They are a great alternative to custom boots for a fraction of the price.
