Purchase: I bought this saddle blanket directly from a Mayatex dealer through the Mayatex website (www.mayatex.com). It was approximately $45-$50.00.
Likes: I love the different colors in this saddle blanket, there are sand, khaki, ivory and black. It also comes in other really pretty combinations. It goes really well with many show outfits. It is also big enough to frame a show saddle and the pattern is VERY eye-catching, it goes really well on my black horse.
Dislikes: I don't think there is much to dislike. The only thing I noticed is that if you get the sand color without wear leathers and have a medium oil saddle (like I do) the saddle dye starts to rub off on the blanket. However this is a really minor issue as the slight marking is always covered by your fenders. Also I believe you can order it with wear leathers if you want to. I use an extra pad under this one, I like to have a thicker layer than just the blanket.
Quality: This is an extremely well-made, handwoven blanket. I am sure it will last a very long time, I have had it for a year and it still looks brand new. I would not hesitate to buy another blanket from Mayatex.
Summary: I am very satisfied with my purchase, this is an excellent blanket. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality product that coordinates nicely with different horses and outfits. I would use another pad under this one for optimum comfort for your horse.
