Purchase: My coach recommended I use spurs when riding my horse, so along with buying a pair of knob-end spurs, I also had to buy spur straps.
My local tack store was out of leather straps, so I had to buy the black nylon braided ones. I paid $5 Cdn.
Likes: The straps are made of braided nylon so they've got some give to them. I can tighten the straps up nicely, and tuck the end in under itself when they're done up so it doesn't flop around.
I can also tighten the straps perfectly because there aren't any set 'holes' for the buckle to sit in. You just buckle them up wherever is most comfortable.
The straps are also easy to clean up when dirty.. either wipe them off with a damp rag or wash them in the sink.
Dislikes: There are a few small "pulls" in the nylon after being used for awhile, but it's easily corrected with a lighter. I just use an ordinary lighter to reseal / re-melt the nylon and shape it back into place.
Quality: Most catalogues describe these as "braided nylon economy straps", but they're of excellent quality and I imagine they'll hold up for a long time. The silver buckles are also strong.
Summary: I'm happy with these and will continue to buy them when my current set wears out.
