Purchase: Purchased 6 years ago for $269 at State line Tack.
Likes: One of my favorite saddles! Lightweight, and stands up to a lot of abuse! Strange things happen to my mare that would destroy most saddles, but the Wintec 250 is still sound and serviceable after 6 years, a few accidents, including being rolled over, submerged in a swamp and skidded across pavement (horse still attached!). Also have completed 1,000 competitive trail miles in it, and many training miles. It is starting to look a little beat up, but is still safe and does it's job. Can't beat the price either.
Dislikes: My horse's back is changing shape, and I think she could benefit from CAIR panels, which are not available on this model. So, my only complaint is Wintec should offer this saddle with Cair panels. If they ever do, I'll buy one in a heartbeat.
Quality: See my likes. Any saddle that can stand up to all that is VERY well made.
Summary: Great saddle for training young horses or a great starter saddle for a new rider. Comfortable in the dressage ring and the long distance trail. This saddle is proof that you don't need to spend a lot to get a quality saddle.
