Purchase: Horseman's Outlet, NJ and paid a little less than 2800 dollars.
Likes: I have been riding my horse in a Passier Grand Gilbert for the past 8 years and it was a more than fine saddle for many years until finally, I had to make a change due to age and back changes. I test rode in many saddles before I found the Bates Innova and what a huge weight was lifted from his back and my conscience! It was immediately clear that he could move and felt absolutely no restrictions with this saddle. A combination of joint supplements and this saddle are making my 18 year old best friend look like a youngster and we get many comments on how relaxed, happy and supple he is.
Dislikes: I tried both the regular knee block and the extended and I bought the regular knee block. The extended knee block was a little too much when it came to restricting movement and I find that the regular knee block is just enough.
Quality: At this point in time, I find the quality top notch. Ask me again 10 years from now. My Passier is almost the same as new and I rode in it for 8 years. We'll see if this saddle holds up as well.
Summary: Love it and my horse Tango loves it. I found some saddles he liked better and I didn't. I found some saddles I liked better and he didn't. This one we agreed on...LOL!
