Purchase: I chose my Paris Tack Dressage Saddle from www.Tackwholesale.com as a package for $485.00. It was a Christmas present from my Fiancee for me.
Likes: I was apprehensive to buy over the internet without testing this one. I did many hours of research and went to lots of local tack stores to try out other ones. I saw one good review on it here and thought I'd try it after reviewing just about every other saddle post!
The leather is of great quality for a saddle in the $400-$500 range. It came as a set with the pad, bridle, stirrups and leathers. The knee flaps are thick and supple, a huge feat as most saddles I tried had almost no knee padding at all! My biggest issue with saddles is when the flap over the stirrup bar rubs your inner thighs, this one doesn't! The saddle is well made, stitching is nice, the stirrup bars were tight and of good quality. This is important so your leathers don't slide off while your riding. Many saddles I did try were either too lose or of poorly made metal that looked ready to break. The saddle is comparable to the used Courbette I almost bought for $800. Sure, it's no Stubben or Courbette but for the money this saddle is right on. The seat is comfortable to ride in and doesn't scratch. The best part is the rear stuffing, it is very thick and well put on the saddle. I would recommend this saddle to any beginner or someone who needs a good inexpensive saddle. Tackwhole sale was easy to deal with and helpful with all my questions.
Dislikes: At first the stirrup bar on the left side wouldn't move up but I emailed Tackwholesale and they said to apply WD-40 to the bar. I did and it works beautifully.
