Purchase: I paid around $50 at my local tack shop for this helmet when it was on sale. I needed a new helmet because I did not have a good fit in my current one.
Likes: It fitted very well and is very comfortable! It came in some nice colors too. The leather on the harness was very supple.
Dislikes: After about 2 years of normal wear and being taken care of, it just fell apart. The outer shell got creases and bumps all over it for no apparent reason. Then the shell fell off! Then the glued on pieces just popped off!
Quality: It was made very well on the inside but the outside(the shell) was very poorly researched and constructed.
Summary: This helmet would be great for "hard to fit heads" if you like replacing helmets every year and a half or so. I don't think I will buy any more Del Mar's for a while but might in the future.
