Purchase: Purchased saddle from tack dealer. This was the second Tex Tan Golden West trail saddle owned. The first one was stolen with Elite trailer. I paid $1200.
Likes: The new softee leather was very accommodating to my legs and free movement of fenders.
Dislikes: The quality of Tex Tan saddles has declined over the past several years. The silver conchos tarnish easily even though they are suppose to be Montana Silversmith brand. The stitching under the saddle that holds the two panels together is coming apart. I have only ridden in this saddle about 30 times in the year that I have owned it and am very careful with handling. The saddle is kept indoors when not in use, but now the suede seat is coming unglued from the tree. Extremely poor construction compared to the one I owned three years ago.
