Purchase: I looked at many saddles for about a year before deciding on a Dale Chavez Saddle, besides I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Chavez where I purchased the saddle in Utah. He was so kind to explain everything I needed to know about the saddle. He was very cordial and very interesting to speak with. While I was speaking with Mr. Chavez, he autographed a new saddle that a person purchased and gave them a new saddle cover to boot. What a true horseman, the kind of person you'll find in the horse industry. I purchased the saddle for myself at a good price of $1680.00. Since I haven't shown a hole lot in Reining, I figured this was a good start.
Likes: The ultimate riding experience; So comfortable to ride in and very flexible in movement. Besides, the horse likes it too. The saddle fits like it was made for my horses. The appearance is most interesting with great designs of tooling. You can tell by the tooling that who ever the craftsman was they made sure it was one they could be proud to ride in themselves. I also had the opportunity to call the company, and there sales staff was very helpful. At this point, I wouldn't buy anything else.
Dislikes: I could not find any flaws in the saddle and I'm very particular about my personal items.
Quality: The saddle is meticulous in design and craftsmanship and very eye appealing. Maybe we should ask my horse!, He's the one who appreciates it the most. It's not binding or otherwise uncomfortable for him.
Summary: At this point I would not buy anything else, this is a proven saddle and would work for any horseman.
