Purchase: I bought these at Greenhawk Calgary; paid $150. I bought these because they look more like a tall boot and were taller than others I've tried.
Likes: I like the fit, they are snug from top to bottom, giving support to the leg and they are tall enough for me. The oiled leather is luxurious and grippy; really helps your position in the saddle. They look great, not your average half chap.
Dislikes: The black colour comes off!!!! My caramel coloured saddle had black rubbed on the flaps! It did clean off, but the leathers were permanently stained. Greenhawk replaced them for me, telling me that they've never had any problem with these, it seemed that this first pair was more 'oily' and the colour was rubbing off on my fingers. The new pair didn't rub off on my fingers, but did come off on my saddle. AND now the right zipper falls down part way while I ride, one time scratching my saddle! The first pair were better. When I contacted Greenhawk about the zipper issue, they were very reluctant to do anything, saying that they maybe could contact the dealer and see... I decided that it wasn't worth pursuing, as I could end up with an even worse pair! Maybe both zippers falling down.
Quality: Other than what I've mentioned above, they are fantastic. Very well stitched, amazing soft, grippy leather.
Summary: If you have a black saddle, okay. Just double check the zippers and be sure the store will stand behind their product!
