Purchase: These are very good, ankle-high boots purchased at the Gift Horse saddlery for upwards towards two hundred dollars. I bought these because all I had before was “heal-less” shoes and I didn’t really like the idea of getting my boot stuck in the stirrup and getting drug around by my foot.
Likes: I really like these boots for a variety of reasons. Number one, they have good ankle support, I know they are meant for riding, but I think I could even hike in these boots! Number two, they are water resistant. Now I am not saying that you could step in a puddle and expect to stay dry, but you can walk through wet grass worry free. Number three, they have good ventilation (considering that they are boots). My feet never get very hot in them. I even like the shoe laces on them. They rarely come untied or even loosen! They are very comfortable too, so I could really wear them all the time (although I do not).
Dislikes: The negative factors of these boots are not very significant but I will still name the one bad point I have noticed. The shoe laces, while being of a good shape and texture for tying as I have already pointed out (this being what prevents me from replacing them), are quite long and have to be carefully tied so that the strings do not drag the ground, even as far off the ground as they are!
Quality: Well made and durable. Has lasted four years of hard use and has plenty of life left.
Summary: Very good boots for all who can get them (so keep your eye out for a sale).
