Purchase: I bought this saddle 3 years ago at Equi-Products in Calgary. I needed a new saddle as my old one was causing my horse to be lame. I paid about $2400 cdn. for it. My horse is wide and hard to fit a saddle to and this fit him as good as custom. It also fit me quite well, I am tall and find it hard to find a saddle with a long flap.
Likes: It fits a variety of horses from regular to extra wide ( I have an appy and a perch/appy). The leather is very nice and durable. I have had it 3 years and it is just now starting to show signs of wear on the flaps. It puts you in a VERY forward seat for jumping. And the seat is wide enough so your seat bones don't sit on the seams. The seat is also quite deep for extra security.
Dislikes: The billet gaurds were VERY stiff and during the breaking in process chewed up the underside of the flaps. I fixed this by oiling them constantly. Because it is a jumping saddle it puts you very forward on your crotch sometimes making it hard to sit deep and drive the horse forward.
Quality: Well constructed and the leather remained firm and didn't get flimsy after break in (I prefer a stiffer flap). The color has stayed true except for the seat and knee pads which are made of a softer and lighter leather. They darkened when oiled and spotted with rain.
Summary: If you are looking for a real forward seat jumping saddle this is the one.
