Purchase: I got mine at Greenhawk in Toronto and paid $109. (I'm in Canada and therefore pay more because of the exchange.)
Likes: I absolutely love how stylish these are, and how they aren't your typical paddock boot, which I did not want. They are lightweight, easy to get on and off, and (so far) indestructible.
Dislikes: The only problem I have with the unit (and perhaps it's my own stupidity) is that they are sooooo well ventilated that it makes them VERY cold in the winter. I have ridden in them 3 or 4 times now in freezing temperatures, and now wear liner socks, wool socks, and heat treats on cold days. You can actually feel the wind on your toes, which will be extremely pleasant when it's super hot outside, but a bit uncomfortable when it's cold.
Quality: I have not had a single problem with the construction at all. The sole feels solid, even though it's light weight, and all the stitching and laces have held up wonderfully.
Summary: I will not dock Ariat any points for the boots not being winter-proof (afterall, that's why WINTER BOOTS were invented!!) I hope to enjoy years and years of rides with my super-stylish, out of the ordinary boots.
