Purchase: 3 Tristan saddles supplied by workplace.
Likes: Of the 3 Tristan saddles there was one which was OUTSTANDING in giving a correct position & balance to the rider. About 6 of us were in the queue to use it!
Despite the age (at LEAST 22 years) this saddle had the stirrup bars repaired and panels reflocked and was in excellent condition. It was used 7 days a week and often for extended hours (up to 8). Fantastic.
Fitted a variety of horses including part Arab, part clydesdale, warmblood and TB
Dislikes: Bit hard in the seat, but the superb position it gave the rider made dressage riding a breeze.
The other 2 Tristans were not as good in giving the rider a secure balanced position. Rider would feel a bit 'at sea' and not be able to apply aids as accurately. They may have suited a larger rider.
Quality: Leather saddle. High quality.
Summary: One of 3 Tristans was outstanding for rider Balance & Position. Scores 5/5 You felt like you could do anything with ease.
Surprisingly, the other 2 were only average - score 3/5.
Hence overall score of 4/5 reflects this inconsistency between the 3 saddles.
