Purchase: I have purchased many pairs of these breeches for daily schooling and trail riding. I buy them online from Dover Saddlery for $50.
Likes: These are a great schooling breech! I currently have 4 pairs of them in grey, blue, and two pairs of sand. The work wonderfully for daily schooling and hold up very well considering all they I have put them through. They are cool for summer and in winter I double them and they keep out even the -5 degree F wind. They are extremely comfortable and I find myself not wanting to take them off after I get home from riding. They fit very well and don't stretch out at all. The colors also remain strong after MANY washings. They don't wrinkle or stain and even after much barn abuse, many falls, treks through the woods, and the like they still look great and wear wonderfully. They work wonderfully when I am training over fences and the knee pads really help to keep my leg secure to the saddle.
Dislikes: After several washings and like 20 rides the bottoms of the breeches do start to pill a bit. I do wear half chaps with them and that probably doesn't help much. It isn't noticeable though when you are in the saddle and the material is still strong. They do tend to show a bit of panty line but they are a tight and a second skin breech. The one pair I have had for 3 years and the elastic band is starting to loose a bit if elasticity. Not much though, it just isn't as tight as it used to be but after three years that isn't bad at all.
Quality: The quality is very good for a schooling breech. Like I said after so long the material starts to pill but the color stays strong, they hold their form well and don't stain or show dirt. The stitching is very strong and even after many, many rides doesn't pull loose. The pair I have had for three years has lost a bit of thread around the one knee patch but that was sown very simply and isn't noticeable. These a great schooling breech and hold up very well for the abuse most schooling breeches are subjected to.
Summary: The fact that I own four pairs speaks for itself. They work wonderfully and hold up very well. I am particularly hard on my breeches but these are wonderful. The are comfortable, easy to fit (come in sizes S,M,L instead of the inch measurements), long lasting, and a great price. I would recommend to anyone wanting to purchase a quality schooling breech.
