Purchase: I ordered this helmet online from Dover for $160 in the conservative black/black colors. I had taken a bad fall and cracked my old helmet and was looking for a new helmet that would meet my daily schooling needs but also transition to the show ring. I also wanted the look but not the price of GPA.
Likes: I love this helmet. It is very comfortable, high quality, looks great and fit like a dream. I like this helmet much better then the helmets with the dial fit. There is a wonderful amount of padding and even after long trail rides I don't get pressure points. I ordered the helmet a bit bigger then my head so that it would hold my ponytail and it works wonderfully. It is well constructed and keep you head super cool. Also the tech fab works great to keep it looking fresh and new for the show ring. The safety straps are very comfortable and padded.
Dislikes: There is nothing I don't like.
Quality: Wonderful quality. It has the look and feel of a GPA without the price tag. Will last many years so long as not involved in a fall and has survived trail rides as well as showing. I feel confident in the amount of protection offered. It is a sturdy helmet and though a bit more heavy then your plastic schooling helmet, still feels wonderful on you head. The padding is secure inside the helmet and the straps are strong and easy to adjust. The material resists scratching and water marks. Wonderful helmet.
Summary: I would recommend this helmet to anyone. I can't imagine a helmet with any better features or a higher quality the only difference between it and a GPA is the name. Tip: I wear a cover on this when I am doing casual riding at the barn to keep it nice but let it uncovered when I am training because it looks so nice. I also have striped it and it looks super cool. A great way to dress up a helmet. I have to honestly say that wearing this helmet is not a bother. I enjoy wearing it as much for the looks as the safety factor. It really is a great finishing touch to any rider's attire despite the fact that it doesn't have the GPA price tag. In my mind there is no reason to purchase a GPA, this helmet has gone above and beyond my expectations and I believe it will become my choice of helmet throughout my future showing career.
