Purchase: I purchased this saddle slightly used from a small tack shop near my house. The saddle was origanally $850 but my father was buying me the saddle so I had to haggle a bit. I asked 725 but worried the price was too low, but hey, it was my x-mas present and it was sold for 725.
Likes: This is one of the most comfortable saddles I have ever ridden in. The seat is deep, soft and comfortable with a high back for those over jumped cross-country fences. The saddle flap is forward enough to jump comfotably (I have heavy thighs so I keep my stirrups short and can ride comfortably, but my 5' 9'' friend can jump in the same saddle just as well) but descrite enough to drop those few holes for dressage and still be comfortable. The knee roll is suede with a foam knee block under the flap. The saddle alothough foam flocked is extremely forgiving and lets me jump with out a bounce pad for any horse.
It fits the assortment of horses I ride as well as my own guy. This is a truely comfotable ride with a great horse and rider fit.
Dislikes: The leather is very soft which makes it easy to clean but scratches easily(just dab some tack soap on and just like new) For the very competitive avid rider this might not suit your needs, but for you everyday riding and showing comfort, this saddle will do the trick. Even for eventing through training and prelim.
Quality: Very good construction of the saddle. THe quality is excellent, just soft leather. For someone who dosen't mind cleaning their tack onc and a while, its great. The saddle is just so so comfortable.
Summary: Ladies, get these saddles quick before they're gone (they only manufacter a small quanity to State Line due to the company switch over). For the most comfortable ride, choose the collegiate alumnus all purpose saddle, most seat sizes and narrow-exwide trees.
