Purchase: I bought this saddle from a discount tack store because it was on sale for $150. My other saddle is a Smith Worthington that I love but it needed to be reflocked so I figured I'd buy a cheap saddle in the mean time.
Likes: The saddle is synthetic so it is easy to clean. It was cheap so I don't care what happens to it. Seems to fit a variety of horses but make sure you fit it correctly with the right padding if needed.
Dislikes: It has a FISH system for fitting horses with different size backs but they really don't change the width of the tree at all. The saddle is a comfortable ride for a quick hack in the woods but it doesn't conform well to a horses back, slips alto, and the flaps are very stiff that it makes it hard to tighten a girth while in the saddle. Also, tightening a girth while on the ground, trying to hold up the stiff flap, 9 times out of 10 my saddle ends up slipping to the side of my horse! My horse is a young quarter horse and he rides fine in it. I suspect a very narrow backed horse would hate the feel of this saddle. It doesn't seem to cause him any problems although I am very careful to be sure I fit it correctly with a various amount of padding depending on the horse I am riding.
Quality: The saddle is synthetic with a "Fish" system for adjusting the width of the tree.
Summary: I'd say if you want a cheap alternative for a hack in the woods, this saddle is for you. For any other purpose, not a wise investment.
