Purchase: I found these in the closet years ago, my dad had bought them for about $30, but I'm not sure where. When I was little I didn't know what they were for so I would put them on my knees and run around (haha!). Now I know what they are for and I use them all the time (heck, I'm glad dad bought them).
Likes: I wanted more protection for my horse's back legs while jumping, and these were the thing. They are padded and offer protection from hind leg injuries and interferences. The suede-like material for the brushing pad/wear leathers is really durable. They stay done up great with the velcro strap, and being a one-size-fits-all sort of deal, it's perfect for no matter which horse I use them on. My quarter horse, paints or thoroughbred, it fits them all like a glove.
Dislikes: Remember: Be careful when putting them on! Adjust them so they fit properly around your horse's ankle, and be sure they are tight enough so they don't slip around. When I don't take the time to adjust them before I start riding, they tend to turn on me as my horse moves. That's really a "what I don't like", its more of a precaution.
Quality: Tough, durable, put together well. That's how Professional's Choice does it. No stitching is coming loose, the neoprene isn't wearing out, and the suede-like wear leathers are great for protecting my horse from bumps and brushes. Made specially for jumping horses, these are the nicest quality ankle boots you will find for a great price.
Summary: I never jump without them now. They may not be those fancy leather fetlock/ankle boots, with wool lining, but they work just as good. If you are a jumper looking for hind boots, take a look at these ones. They come in many colors, and will fit all of your horses.
