Purchase: Acquired to protect horse's front feet torn off at nails due to constant wet weather; paid $145
Likes: padding on bottom of foot
Dislikes: boots are made of cloth material with velcro that becomes soaked and takes hours to dry so you need an extra pair if you do not want to keep horse stalled while boots dry. My first pair were defective. One boot fell apart so I had to replace at my expense and when returning defective pair I was told it would take 4-5 weeks to get credit or replacement so now will buy better weather resistant boa boots for spare pair while Old Macs dry. Expensive hassle.
Quality: cloth top with velcro and strap closure and ruber insides and back secured with tacks; quality good but wet weather limits their usefulness and warranty if you get a defective boot is not convenient for quick credit or replacement
Summary: I would recommend Boa BOOTS OVER old macs unless you live in an area where conditions are generally dry. Boas are also easier to apply.
