Purchase: I bought these from a local tack shop to have an extra pair since my Tredsteps were wearing out. I paid about $90 for them.
Likes: I liked how they fit all around. There was no bulkiness down the front of the leg. A very smooth look. The really gave a close contact feel while riding.
Dislikes: The snap at the bottom would never stay snapped. I could get it snapped, but once on the horse it unsnapped and made a very annoying sound while riding. No matter how hard I pushed on it, the snap on both chaps would come undone. The left side more often than the right. I wear Blundstone Cuthbertson boots and they fit fine. It seems if the snap piece was longer like the Tredsteps, they fit just fine.
Quality: Good stitching and suede was very durable.
Summary: Because of the snap issue, I'm sticking w/ Tredsteps. If Ariat would improve the snap problem, I would give them another try. The chaps are in my trunk because I just got tired of the flapping strap and the elastic was beginning to stretch after a short while.
