Purchase: I bought my Isabell because I've been riding in a Wintec Pro Dressage for about 10 years. Although it is still in excellent condition, the little Wintec emblems on the stirrup strap keepers are discolored and flaking. For this reason I decided on a new saddle and won't purchase anything but Wintec. I got my Isabell from Crazy Horse Tack 12/31/06 (www.equestrian-tack.com). I paid $995, but that included the saddle with the CAIR panels, the complete Easy Change Gullet System, a Wintec Elastic Dressage Girth, Wintec Pro Webbers, Korsteel irons, AND free shipping. All items were obviously in your choice of sizes. That is a great deal considering most places give you nothing but the saddle for $995!
Likes: Everything!!! I love everything about this saddle! As usual, the Wintec equisuede is a breeze to care for. At most, I run a soft brush over the saddle after riding just to knock off the dust. Otherwise, I do NOTHING to maintain my Wintecs and they always look brand new. As will all Wintecs, the recessed stirrup bars are great about not poking or pinching your legs. The stirrup bars on the Isabell are also positioned back an extra 2" which makes keeping your position quite a bit easier, especially when riding a bouncy horse. The Easy Change Gullet System is great if you are using the saddle on multiple horses, as it allows slight modifications to fit horses with varying wither sizes.
Dislikes: I like EVERYTHING about this saddle.
Quality: As with all Wintec saddles the construction and quality are top of the line. The Wintec Isabell was designed by/for Isabell Werth and is of the same construction as her leather model, but in the equisuede (which is MUCH easier to maintain and clean!).
Summary: I LOVE THIS SADDLE! All Wintecs are great for beginner riders, but the Isabell is also used by many professionals. You couldn't ask for a nicer saddle for schooling or showing. Many of the country's top riders are using this saddle for both.
