Purchase: I bought the saddle from a friend a year and half ago. I got it really cheaply - equivalent of $300! This is because the tree needed repair and the leather in the knee and seat area needed replacing. It is a 16" so very much on the small side for me (5ft9), but it was all I could afford at the time. I was told that the saddle was about 15 years old!
Even though it was a bit small, I found it more comfortable than my GP saddle to do sitting trot and it really helped me find the correct dressage position. The shape of the saddle around the wither area it quite triangulated so it cleared my TB horse's high wither well. Over the last two years my horse grew quite wide and the triangular shape no longer suited his wither profile. Unfortunately I had to sell my bargain-buy to find a bigger saddle that was a better shape for my horse. I sold it for the equivalent of $450 and I am still looking for another saddle!
Likes: Good durability - over 15 years of use. It did need a bit of leather replacement around the knee and seat area otherwise still lasted well. Comfortable to do sitting trot even though it was a bit on the small side.
Dislikes: I was a bit suspicious when I had to repair the tree. I am not sure if this was a manufacturing defect or due to inconsiderate handling from another owner.
Quality: On the whole the construction is good. The leather needed to be replaced in the knee and seat area after 15 years of use. It is possible that better care of the leather in the earlier years may have helped it last longer.
Summary: Good comfortable saddle that was affordable. It may have lasted better if properly looked after from the beginning
