Purchase: I ordered this blanket from the Schneiders website. It was on sale for $84.95. I did do some research and I read several "tack reviews". My horse is 25 and we have some pretty cold winters here(michigan)so I picked this blanket because I felt like I was getting the most for my money.
Likes: This is a great blanket! It keeps my old girl nice and warm. She loves it. It is very easy to put on, and it fits great. The shoulder gussets make it more comfortable for her, I like that it is waterproof and windproof yet it truly is breathable. It has not leaked, or rubbed. So far, we are very happy with it. (This is the first winter with this blanket)
Dislikes: I really like the blanket. The elastic leg straps have needed to be tightened a few times. I make them shorter and they do not stay that way, they are not long enough to cause a problem but that is the only thing I can think of that I am not happy with. I am also not happy with the neck cover but I am going to write a separate review for that because it is not the fault of the blanket.
Quality: This blanket is made very well. The straps have not torn at all and the buckles have never come undone when she out in the pasture. The teflon coating is wonderful, you can just brush the dirt right off, it is so easy to keep clean. The inside lining has not ripped and it keeps her coat nice and smooth.
Summary: If you are looking for a good quality blanket and have a budget, this is a great blanket for your horse. Like I said, I did some research and I found that this is the best blanket for the price. I am confident it is going to last us a long time!
