Purchase: The Reinsman saddle pad was acquired from the Jeffers Equine Catalog. I paid $57.98.
Likes: This pad is the most comfortable pad I have used to date. The design I chose is the contoured version. It fits over the withers, for the most comfortable fit for both rider and horse. In addition, the pad was designed not to slip, but at the same time provide air circulation. So once the pad is in place, you are ready to go without the worry of slipping. In addition to the above, the Reinsman Company sells only quality items. With that in mind, one can feel confident they are getting a super product.
Dislikes: Like other pads I have, it is sometimes feels like you are not getting a "snug" fit when cinching due to the amount of material used at the bottom of the pad.
Quality: The quality is acceptional. It is constructed with what they call a "waffled" bottom. This design is what allows the air circulation and the non-slip action. In addition, it will not pull the horses hair and it is cushioned for the rider. Therefore, both the rider and the horse received well appreciated comfort. The Jeffer's ad says it all truthfully!
Summary: For anyone with an older horse with a sore back or a young horse you want to treat, this pad is the pad for you. If the rider wants to experience a more comfortable and safe ride, this pad is your answer. And, because of its quality, you won't be buying another one for many years.
