Purchase: I bought this saddle slightly used on ebay for $1050. It is over 20 years old, but looks as thought it has barely been ridden.
Likes: I ADORE this saddle. I love the fact that its an older saddle and is of excellent construction, nice soft leather, and the seat is shaped perfectly for me. It fits my mare perfectly, and also seems to fit every other horse I have had it on.
Dislikes: I was a bit between sizes, and bought one size up, so I have had to make a minor (aka, vetwrap on the front billet) alteration to help my leg stay in place. This is just a sizing issue, as I like the seat bigger than I need it so that I have more freedom of movement, and my tipped pelvis fits better into the larger seat. I have nothing bad to say about the quality.
Quality: Very good quality and construction, typical of older German saddles. It is a more "outdated" style with pencil knee rolls and a medium-depth seat, but the quality is amazing.
Summary: I love this saddle and recommend it to anyone looking to buy a saddle for a TB-type back. It offers excellent wither clearance, and my mare seems incredibly comfy in it. She hasn't worked as nicely in any of the other saddles I have tried on her, so she chose this one, and it happened to be perfect for me too. If anything ever happened to it, I would replace it with one just like it in a heartbeat.
