Purchase: I bought this bridle on closeout from VTO saddlery for $150. I bought it because my mare had stepped on the rein of my OLD collegiate bridle, breaking it in about every place possible ;)
Likes: The color is exactly as described, and when I ordered a set of curb reins to go with it, they matched perfectly after a couple conditionings. The leather is nice, though it took a while to break in. It is a nice bridle for what I paid for it, and the padding is soft, but not so soft that you can over-tighten the noseband. It has held up very well for the 2 years I have had it (used about twice a week, but still looks new).
Dislikes: The edges of the leather are not really nicely finished like on my kieffer bridle. It did take a while to break in, and was a bit stiff when I bought it.
Quality: The construction is excellent, nice even stitching. The edges could be finished much better than they were, and the leather is of the quality expected in this price range.
Summary: I would probably buy a kieffer bridle next time, as the quality for the price is far superior to the courbette and the stubbens I have seen.
