Purchase: I purchased this pad from a retailer on ebay that specializes in Mattes products. I paid about $100 for it, plus shipping. I bought it because my horse had lost some topline, and I needed a bit of a front riser pad that would be comfortable for her and was adjustable.
Likes: It comes with 2 shims for the front and 2 for the back for each side, so it is quite adjustable. My mare really seems to like the cushioning the pad provides, but it doesn't interfere with my aids to her. I like that there is no wool in the spine area, so it helps a bit with wither clearance too, and leave them more ventilation along the spine.
Dislikes: It did take a while to get the pad, but it was shipped from Germany.
Quality: Excellent construction, I have used it almost every day for 4 months and haven't had any quality issues with it yet.
Summary: I recommend these pads to anyone who has a horse with a bit less topline than desirable to slightly adjust their saddle fit until the horse fills out. It has worked wonders for that purpose on my mare.
