Purchase: I bought this saddle off of ebay for $300.00. I bought it because my horse is very difficult to fit and becomes sore quickly under the huge variety of saddles that I have tried on her.
Likes: What I liked about the saddle was the price. The quality was OK, not great but OK and it was pretty comfortable for me.
Dislikes: This saddle was made for a board, not a horse. It bridged badly on my not-swaybacked horse. I had no idea a treeless saddle could bridge! Maybe it would fit a mule or a real barrel-shaped horse, but not an animal with a "figure." My horse hated it and let me know! It was too wide, as well. My horse normally takes a medium tree (6 1/2" gullet for you western folks) and this was just waaay too wide.
Quality: Quality was OK, not great, about what you would expect in the $300 range. It did have some cool features like two stirrup positions, a bunch of dees, and movable panels on the underside.
Summary: Bottom line, I won't buy a Hilason again. That was a costly and time-consuming mistake. Perhaps if they had a trial policy I could have avoided throwing my cash down the drain but they don't. Live and learn.
