Purchase: I purchased this saddle used from an individual here in Texas 7 years ago. I bought the saddle to use on my dressage horse when we take an occasional trail ride. I paid $700 in 2000.
Likes: This saddle is comfortable for trail and fits all of my Arab horses well. Better yet, the stirrups are set back in a balanced position (similar to a dressage saddle) unlike most western saddles. The saddle has a round skirt which works best on a Arab's short back. The saddle is attractive with in simple design (very little tooling) and dark mahogany color.
Dislikes: I rarely use this saddle as it weighs approximately 20-25 lbs and has a saddle horn (I normally ride with a dressage or endurance saddle). For persons looking for a western saddle, these drawbacks are minor.
Quality: The saddle is made of durable leather that is soft and flexible for a western saddle. I bought the saddle used, so I'm not sure exactly how old the saddle is. It is at least 8 years old and still looks good with no problems. It has two rings for the billets so that you can achieve better placement of the girth for your horse.
Summary: Attractive and comfortable saddle for trail riding. Fits Arabs well, no shifting or movement even on steep hills. Saddle is well balanced (like a dressage saddle). Overall, good buy.
