Purchase: Less than two months ago, I "rescued" a 20 year old Doc Bar/Mr.San Peppy gelding who's accomplishments include NFR team roping, state champion reining titles, barrel racing, pole bending and cutting. When I got him he had been rode hard, put away we; he was in a small pen in 6" of mud, his feet were too long and he was very sore in the front end. He didn't want to walk and was also limping on his right front from a pulled tendon. I bought this product from a local feed store the first time for $38.00 for the 32oz. bottle but I have since found it Valley Vet Supply for $32.00 with free shipping.
Likes: I followed the recommended dosing (2oz for 10 days then 1oz per day after) for the first 3 weeks that I had this horse. After 1 week, I saw a noticeable improvement in how the horse moved (he was moving!). After 3 weeks, this horse was roaming the pasture with his new buddies and now even trotting around some. The stiffness was all gone and he was no longer limping. I now only give him the supplement about 3 times a week. Yesterday (5 weeks later), I saw Red jumping, bucking and running around the pasture like a horse half his age. Wow! There are so many Joint Supplements on the market now but I will recommend this one to anyone!
Dislikes: Nothing
Quality: When I give this supplement, I put it on a sweet feed first, then switched to a senior feed. I think Red would lick it right off of anything-it evidently tastes good. The dosing bottle is very easy to use. Take off the cap, squeeze the bottle and it fills the built in measuring cup (similar to a kids mouthwash bottle).
Summary: I had never had an older horse before so when I got one that obviously that joint problems, I was confused by the variety of products on the market. I chose Next Level because of the lower price than several brands and the quality of Farnam products. I love what it has done for my old guy and will definitely continue using it.
