Purchase: My poor mare has a terrible knee. She has arthritis, a floating bone chip, and synovial fluid leakage. I purchased a 5 lb. container of Tri-Lube for my mare at a horse expo for $110, but it normally retails for about $140.
Likes: I like the combination of glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM. It's essentially the same blend as Cosequin (excluding ascorbate), and, although is isn't quite as effective, it still is an excellent product for the price. The supplements made a huge difference in my mare's performance and helped her get to a management level of pain.
Dislikes: It isn't as effective as Cosequin and other high-end joing supplements. Before every show, I have to double the amount of supplement feeding my horse to adjust for the extra levels of stress and performance.
Quality: It's very well-packaged (sturdy container) with clear instructions as to the feeding. My horse actually likes the flavor of the supplement and eats it right up!
Summary: This is a very good price on a fairly good supplement. While there's room for improvement and higher quality ingredients, it still is an affordable, effective joint supplement.
