Arab Size Natural Halter

For Sale on eBay

Manufacturer: Pirelli
Model: Arab Size Natural Halter
Category: Halters/Ropes/Leads

Purchase: Directly from Pat Pirelli off of his website. I paid about $50 for it.

Likes: I like that it has lasted me 8 years of constant use. It hasn't frayed or broken. It has remained sot on contact and supple despite the sweat caused by my endurance racing and use! It has NO buckles to break. My friend ended up getting one as she was working with an abused horse who refused to be tied up. She couldn't get the horse through even gradient training to be tied as the horse would pull and break through the halters; which really offered her no resistence. This was the first halter in 9 nylon halters (and even more lead ropes!) that didn't break on her first pull. She stopped and got to think about it for the first time. She'd previously pulled so hard that when the lead or halter buckles finally would give out, she would literally fall over backwards; usually not-so-gracefully and with some amount of injury. I like it because my horse likes it. I can also throw it in a saddle pack for emergency out on the trail as it is light-weight (again; no metal) and crushable. It also fits better underneath a bridle as it is not so bulky, so if you're not using a halter bridle, you can still have a halter on your horse without the accompanying bulk. I love them!

Dislikes: The color has faded. I am really serious; that is one of my only complaints! Out of all of the times I have thrown it into the washer (which, I will add, likes my halter as the buckles don't clang around inside of it as it is spinning; which my drier also agrees with! :} because there's no metal!!! Have I mentioned that already? :}) over the years, it is not quite so green as when I first bought it. It is still green mind you! Not some mutated neon color! My sister's is still black though, so maybe it was just this color. They DO only have 4 colors to pick from. That could a problem for some! Red, Black, Green and Blue cover it for me though! I think for $50 I won't be buying 5 or 6 halters and thus won't suffer with purchasing duplicate colors. SO, if you want purple, teal, silver or the other numerous cool colors out there, you'll just have to go to another natural rope halter maker!

Quality: OOOH Boy! I think I mentioned it in the earlier part, but it is lightweight, no buckles, no metal, no breakable parts. There are knots that are placed just-so on the head so that it gives more delicate pressure and not the thick dull band width of a regular nylon halter. I have seen it be indestructable. My sister got her two halters the same time I got mine. There still in great shape. I've never had to cut my horse out of one (knot possibly being tugged so tight by a pulling hrose that you can never get it undone and thus have to literally cut it off of your horses head to get him out). Quality is very good. I have bought two other natural halters for my miniature horse stallion and he has frayed them somehow. I didn't want to buy him a $50 halter! so I bought two for $25 each...do that math. He has made them look not so nice by playing with them, going into the tack room and getting them, chewing on them etc. I have had babies chew on them (or try quite earnestly!) and they just haven't frayed, so they must use a different type of yachting rope than others! I like it.

Summary: If I haven't said it already, I love this halter. I likewise love their leadropes. Hands dow! They have a weight and a feel to them that speaks to the the horses so much better than tugs at the end of these flimsy lightweight nylon leads and the dull and thick nylon halters. They're just a different class of halter; a completely different make and model. You've got to try one to see the difference between a regualr nylon halter and a Pirelli rope halter.
