Purchase: East Valley Feed and Tack. I wanted to get some detangler and I had run out of my previous brand, I thought this would be a good alternative, as they didn't carry the one I prefer. I purchased it for about $20.00 US
Likes: The bottle. It does give a good sheen. It does repel dirt effectively. If you wash your horse down and spray it on and even go the extra step of rubbing it in; it works especially well.
I do like that it can be used on horses, ponies and minis
Dislikes: I don't like the quilty of the spray. When sapryed into the mane or tail, I actually cannot start brushing the hair I'm working on until it has dried a bit. The wetness does not add to the detangling and brushing hair when it is first sprayed makes you feel like you are brushing through slighty sticky, chalky, wet, string hair. It almost has a "squeaking" feeling, of teh sound of hair as it is being forced. I like it when it is partially dry. My other spary didn't do this though and out of my five horses, none have thin hair. This leads to sparying adn letting dry adn brushing in sections at a time. What a waste! I do like it on the body, but then again, a waste if you spray it on directly; I've only noticed it work well when wiping it on and rubbing it onto the coat. Very slick when applied to the neck or saddle area as always!!! :} I would also mention that it leaves my mini stallion's neck TOO slick to the point that when leading him, the lead rope will gradually become coated with the fine stuff and becomes slick to hold and even more so when it then gets wet with sweat. I don't really like it.
Quality: The spray bottle is fine. Four of my horses like it and I think the mini is just finicky and runs as soon as he hears the sound of it; whether it be fly spray, show sheen or detangler! I think the consistency of the spray is decent. I like that their various products come in different colored bottles, so you can tell the difference between the fly spray and the sheen.
Summary: I only bought it because my favorite wasn't carried in the area I moved to. I wouldn't purchase this as a replacement again. Would get it if it were cheaper and there was only a limited selection; it's better than nothing if you need something!!!
