I bought this book from Equi-Products in Calgary, Alberta. Because it was on sale, I paid approximately $30.00 Cdn.
Likes: A great book with colour photographs showing demo riders going through the exercises described.
Holly stresses the importance of proper riding form, no matter what you're doing. The book goes into detail about how your hands, head and legs should be, among other things.
The book includes diagrams for many of the exercises, where are also in colour, that are extremely simple to understand.
The exercises are also appropriate for any level of rider, whether you are fearful of jumping due to a bad experience, or are an experienced rider looking to brush up on the basics.
Dislikes: I wish this book was made similar to the other book I just reviewed (101 Jumping Exercises by Linda L. Allen). You can't hang this book over a jump or gate to display the exercises and that would've been really handy.
This book is bound regularly so it's hard to even keep the book open to a certain page without it closing on itself.
Maybe eventually they'll rework the style of it.
Quality: Softcover, 150 pages. Full colour (both diagrams and photographs). Demo riders showing proper riding form, as well as faults, to help visual learners.
Clear, easy to understand instructions and exercises.
Summary: A great instructional book to add to your library, though it's not preachy. I have recommended this to other people and will continue to do so. I only wish it was bound differently but that's my only "complaint".
