Purchase: I bought these boots from Greenhawk Harness and Tack for $110 Canadian. They were bought as a Christmas present for myself!
Likes: I love these boots because the shell is made of plastic, so I just wipe them clean. The two straps keep the boots snug without allowing movement. They protect my Thoroughbred mare very well, as she is poorly conformed and I can hear the boots clicking when she moves. They also provide good support and comfort. They come in a range of fun, cute colours (baby blue, baby pink, sand etc) But my basic blacks are professional and fun too. There are also matching ankle boots.
Dislikes: My boots were fleece-lined, but you could get the same boots with neoprene lining. The fleece has it's advantages, but limits the boots to non-muddy weather (unless you've got a while to clean them afterwards!). The straps are very nice, but my only complaint is that perhaps they are a tad too wide, so the horse doesn't feel the closeness of the fence as much as the boots' leather counterpart.
Quality: The outer shell is PVC, very easy to clean and it won't crack under any temperature. They provide good support and protection. The velcro is of good quality, and the double-closure ensures that the boot won't fall off.
Summary: These boots were a treat, and I save them for show days, but I know many people who have opted for the neoprene-lining and use them every day. They are wonderful boots, and serve well!
