Purchase: I purchased the original heavyweight Rhino Wug, which is identical to the new one except for the color (it comes in green now) and the leg arches, which the older model doesn't have.
Likes:
Dislikes: The single strap across the rear of the blanket makes leg straps unnecessary, but it does get manure-y. I don't believe this is a design flaw, however. I'd still by the blanket. Heck, I'd buy two. You do need to order it a size larger than you normally would, though.
Quality: Outer shell is very heavy. That's good. This is my first experience with the snap-and-ring construction in the front of a blanket, and I have to say I prefer it. And not that it really matters, but I like the plaid. I don't think the addition of leg arches was really necessary on the new model, but it doesn't detract from its efficiency.
Summary: The new wave in horse blankets. Best hardware I've seen, and warmest design. I love it.
