Purchase: I bought this bridle in a local tack shop- $50 for everything but the reins, and an additional $30 for the reins.
Likes: When assembling this bridle, I immedidately noticed how supple the material was, and how easily I was able to operate the buckles. The material is not at all stiff or plasticy- it feels almost like leather. But it is SOO much stronger than leather. No stretching whatsoever- a friend's pony was tied by the reins and spooked- pulling back against them. The bridle did not even show any signs of wear from a pony who was able to pull a trailer when he spooked while wearing a halter!
The padded grips on the reins are AMAZING- no longer to my ring fingers get blisters on long trail rides or when the reins are wet. The soft, spongy reins encourage a soft hand and I find that I do not hold the reins as tightly. As a result I am much gentler on my horse's mouth!
Dislikes: The reins can get a bit slippery when my hands are very sweaty, not a big problem but it can pose a problem. My other problem is that this bridle does not come in pony size! As a result, it's a bit too big for my Quarter Pony. I also would not show with this bridle- as (like the wintec saddles) it has WINTEC emblazoned on it. It is perfect for schooling; not for showing.
Quality: It is constructed like a leather bridle; nice stitching, nice buckles. I get mine wet all the time and it hasn't stretched or rusted. It's obviously worth the money and will last a long time!
Summary: Durable, and great for schooling horses- not great for ponies or for the show ring.
