Model: Isabell Werth
Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: One of many saddles I trialed for work riding.
Likes: Appeared to be quite well made. Fitted a few different types of horse (TB, Warmblood). May suit some riders....
Dislikes: This saddle does not suit me at all! The position of the stirrup bars (which Isabell has situated further to the rear) makes my balance totally unstable. My upper body wants to tilt forward and my leg is unstable at the hip joint so my leg tries to swing backwards. 6 professional riders at my work tried this model out, and ALL found it also make them unstable. I would never ride in this saddle on a youngster or horse that may 'prop'. I think that as with all saddles, this is DEFINITELY one to be ridden in before purchase- as Isabell Werth obviously has a different conformation to me! Several local saddlers have advised that this saddle is either 'loved or hated' depending on the riders physique.
Quality: Appears to be nicely constructed.
Summary: I (and 6 other professional riders) did not like this model saddle however it may well suit another type of rider physique.
Usefulness Rating: 2 out of 5.
