Purchase: We used to have thin electric rope around our pastures, which seemed to deteriorate quickly.
We were looking for a good alternative as stray dogs frequent the area and we'd like to safely keep them away from our horses.
This rope was recommended by our local tack and feed store, Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada.
For 200m, we paid approximately $60.
Likes: The fence comes in 200m rolls and 6mm diameter.
Throughout the strands of rope, there are 6 tinned copper wires. The tinning process stops the copper from oxidizing, which would reduce - or stop - it's conductivity.
It's fairly thick and highly visible (the rope is white with the odd green strand throughout).
It's very easy to put up along the fence line as well.
Dislikes: Nothing yet... it's held up well through freezing rain, heavy snow, high winds, sun and everything else that comes along throughout the year.
Quality: Great quality. I wish we'd found this rope sooner.. then we wouldn't have wasted money on the other rope.
Summary: We're looking at picking up another spool or two to keep in the garage in case we decide to expand our pastures.
