Purchase: I've always used braided nylon spur straps for schooling and showing, but wanted to switch to leather ones for the show ring. They just look better. I bought these from Greenhawk in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada for around $6.00 on sale. They're regularly around $10.00.
Likes: Nice looking straps. The leather isn't cheap. I also like that they're not adorned with any studs, silver accents or crystals which are popular in today's show ring. Things that like can be pretty distracting, which isn't the look I'm going for.
Dislikes: The leather is almost too wide for the buckle. It's 2 ply leather, stitched around the outside. When you thread the leather through the buckle, it puckers and goes a bit wavy. Once you give the end a little tug, it straightens out for the most part, but the manufacturers could have measured more accurately.
Quality: Good quality buckles. Nice leather - not too stiff or too flimsy.
Summary: I'd get these spur straps again.. They were a good price, and for the price, they are a decent quality.
