Purchase: I bought this bit during Salem Saddlery's renovation sale for $65.00. They usually retail for $114.00
Likes: Wow, and some women swoon over jewelry! The bit is beautiful! The construction is flawless. My soft-mouthed TB really did like the aurigan mouthpiece and the 45 degree angle of the lozenge did make him more accepting of the bit. It made a difference even over the SS french link D we had been using.
Dislikes: Well, I WOULDN'T have liked paying $114.00, but since I didn't...still, it would have been worth it.
Quality: It is beautifully constructed and, as I said previously, just plain beautiful. It FEELS like a quality bit just sitting in your hand, so imagine what it feels like sitting in your horses mouth...
Summary: I think all the bits I buy in the future will be Sprenger bits.
