Manufacturer: Rocking R
Model: Distance Runner
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: This saddle is met for competitive endurance riding. I ride a lot of trails on the weekends and have a horse that is extremely sensitive to saddle fit. I used a Bob Marshall that she really liked but is did not absorb enough of the shock on long rides and would hurt my back. I searched on the internet and found this saddle. I like the flex panel system for a ortho flex I had before and wanted a light saddle. I went with this saddle because of the weight and the easy fit. I paid 1399.00 for the saddle no including shipping.
Likes: It is a very nice high quality saddle. However I found the flex panels were not even and too close together for my Paint trail horse. I shipped it back and they corrected all the problems and shipped it back to me free of charge. They even reimbursed me for my shipping free to send it back. I now fits my horse and I really love the saddle.
Dislikes: To save weight the flex panels are very short and you have to purchase a high priced saddle pad to make up for this design. I first purchased a saddle right pad but it is very heavy and did not seem necessary for my weight. I recently purchased a skito pad custom made for the saddle and it really seem to do the trick. In all with the skito pad and saddle the cost is 1550.00
Quality: This is a well designed saddle but is met for light weight riders. Under 160 lbs. It has very short flex panels and the panels themselves seem maybe too flex able. The leather is very high quality. The designer of the saddle is suppose to be one of the original designers of the ortho flex saddles flex systems.
Summary: I like the saddle and the customer service was very good. I'm not sure if the saddle would be good for every one. This saddle seems to fit my horse and me very well.
