Purchase: I got this saddle as a second - so that if I've got a friend over who wants to ride with me, they can.
I bought it used for approximately $200 from a private sale.
Likes: Even Wintec's cheapest model, the 250, is well made!
The material on the seat and knee rolls is extremely grippy, offering security to any rider.
I really like how the knee rolls are positioned. Even without adjustable knee rolls (like the other versions - the 500's and higher have) they're well placed.
I like how easy this saddle is to clean. I use a damp rag on the equileather parts and a vacuum or lint brush (depending on how dirty the saddle is) on everything else.
I've used the 250 on a variety of horses and all seem to be very comfortable in it.
Dislikes: I really don't mind that this model doesn't have the easy change gullet system.
If I had to pick at one thing though, I'd prefer to see a stirrup leather keeper on the flap, instead of a slot. I think it looks better, but that's just my personal preference.
Quality: Typical of Wintec products, this saddle holds up well after a great deal of use and continues to perform.
It's perfect for schooling, but I've also ridden in hunter classes with this saddle (check your rule books first before you try it, please!) and done just fine.
Summary: I own several Wintec saddles and will remain loyal to the company. Their products are great and their service is excellent.
