Purchase: My old, reliable Dehner customs boot days were coming to an end. After all the restitching, gusset repair, and tears thinking about breaking in a new pair of boots, I relented and went to a recommended saddle shop in Indianapolis. I was told that the boots I wanted would cost approximately $1,000 and they would take a few months to arrive. I waited with bated breath.
Likes: The boots were comfortable, but took a while to break in (I didn't get the softer leather which, in hindsight, I wish I would have). The craftsmanship is excellent and the fit is superb. The boots offer a nice arch for your feet and really conform to my legs.
Dislikes: Like I said, the boots take a while to break in; however, once you do, they are really comfortable.
Quality: The leather didn't break in as fast as my Dehner's, which adds an achy, breaky feeling to your ankles and balls of your feet your first several rides. However, the leather is still of good quality and the stitching is perfect. Essentially, you really get what you pay for. Suggestion: I didn't get the back zippers (but will add to my boots) and would recommend a consumer to consider before purchasing. I expect these boots to last quite a while with TLC.
Summary: Although my Dehner's were soooo comfortable when I broke them in, these boots are proving themselves to be right in the same category. Oh, and George Morris rides in this brand, too.
