Purchase: I purchased my wintec western saddle from Stateline Tack for $300. I wanted a light trail saddle at an affordable price.
Likes: The wintec trail saddle is very light, hence easy to hoist onto my warmblood's back. With wintec's signature synthetic tree, it fits any horse. The seat is very comfortable for long trail rides, though something can be said for the placement of the stirrups.
Dislikes: The stirrup placement on this saddle seems to me a little further back than usual. I find the saddle has a tendency to pop people forward so that they lean onto the cantle. My workplace had purchased a few of these saddles for trailriding, and had the leathers moved forward.
Quality: This saddle is 100% synthetic with flexible tree. It is quite sturdy, one of the horses I work with rolled on one several times while waiting in his stall at a clinic, and the saddle came out of it unscathed.
Summary: This is a great trail saddle to bomb around in. However for serious western riding or endurace, I would consider adjusting the placement of the stirrups.
