Likes: I sat in the saddle in a tack shop and really liked it. I had been taking lessons for a while at this point and was starting to look for a horse. It's much better to get the horse first and then fit the saddle to it, but I was tired of using the lesson saddles which were uncomfortable (most of them were sized to fit the lesson kids, and I was an adult!). The seat and the padded part of the flaps were a soft leather. The rest was a thicker, stronger leather that I found to be a little slippery. The seat was soft and comfortable, just like the advertisement claimed.

Dislikes: I would prefer if the flap wasn't so slippery, though I think the newer models may be different. Also, I think the pommel and twist of the saddle were too wide, which lead to discomfort after a while. I purchased mine with medium/wide tree as I was told they tended to run narrower than other models. While it was workable for most horses, I didn't find that it was the best fit for any of them. It seemed to be shaped like a banana, and it curved away from the loins of the horses that I tried it on. I ended up using a riser pad with the majority of horses that I used it on. Without the riser I always felt a little like I was sliding backwards. The 17.5" seat was probably slightly too roomy for me. I felt like I was always struggling to find my "seat." Most importantly, after less than one year of use I noticed that the stuffing seemed to be lumpy in the panels underneath. I had a saddle fitter look at it and re-stuff it and it was fine after that but I was disappointed that this need to be done on a saddle by a renowned maker.

Quality: Leather was high quality. Stuffing had to be replaced.

Summary: Not my favorite saddle. The newer versions do look a little nicer though. I prefer my Jaguar and M. Toulouse close contact saddles.
