Purchase: I purchased the saddle from ebay about 6 months ago because I have a problem with a couple of my horses having either very small or no withers along with the saddle pad, the saddle has a great fit while riding however, I am at the same problem with this saddle, only worse I can not get it to stay on while mounting any horse. I have tried different straps and nothing seems to work. I even tried it on my horse that any saddle will work on and it slid of just as fast. If there is anyone out there that can help me figure out how to fix this problem that would be wonderful.
Likes: I like the ride it fit well, nice secure seat, the horses seem to enjoy it no sores after hours of riding.
Dislikes: Will not stay in place no matter what straps I have tried to use (leather as well as nylon. I'm limited to now climbing on a mount to use the saddle however, trail riding this is not always a option. So can't use the saddle often at this point.
Quality: The construction of the saddle is great, its light weight well balanced, took some getting use to where the stirrups are positioned however, overall love the saddle.
Summary: Would love to find a way to make it stay on while mounting, is there additional straps you can buy especially for this saddle? And is there an actual Hilason site where you can discuss this and try to get it resolved?
Love the feel of the saddle and quality workmanship.
