Purchase: This halter came with my first horse when I bought her.
Looking at the label and doing my research online, I see that this is the economy model of Cavalier halter and sells for around $9.00 Cdn at various tack & farm supply stores.
Likes: Despite a great deal of use (3 years, on all the time) nothing was broken on the halter.
Dislikes: This definitely wouldn't have been my choice for a halter. In this case, you get what you pay for.
I am generally very happy with Cavalier products (I own quite a few), but this was a bit of a disappointment.
Quality: It's single ply nylon with silver hardware that was gold plated. The noseband is not adjustable, therefore it doesn't fit properly around the horses nose (it was, in fact, very loose on mine).
The noseband and one of the cheek pieces were terribly frayed when I got it. Since I know that this horse was alone in the field before I bought her, it frayed due to general use - not another horse playing halter tag.
Summary: I disliked this halter so much that I bought a halter of much better quality the very next day.
I don't know that I'd recommend this halter at all, except maybe only as a back-up.
