Purchase: I bought this saddle at a local saddle shop on clearance for $450 without fittings.
Likes: I searched for several months for a saddle to fit a Percheron that I am riding. As I don't own the horse and am only riding her to keep her in shape for her "real job" (pulling wagons), I didn't want to spend a fortune on a custom saddle. This truly is the only saddle that would fit her. Other saddles labeled as wide just weren't wide enough in the chamber and sat right on top of her spinous processes instead of the muscles. She was not happy in those saddles. The bonus of this saddle is that the gullets are changeable so I can also use the same saddle on the other five Percherons of various ages and builds in the barn.
The saddle is quite comfortable for me as well. I find I can get a good secure seat. She has shied quite a few times and I have been able to stay on. (Good thing, as a fall from a horse this big is never fun.)
Dislikes: Not much to not like for a $450 price tag. The balance isn't absolutely perfect - good but not perfect. But then again my other option was to ride bareback, so I deal with this without complaint.
Quality: Quality seems to be quite good. I appreciate the longer billets and girthing system. On other saddles I tried, which she wasn't comfortable in, I would have needed a custom 64" girth. With this saddle I can use a more reasonable (and less expensive) off-the-shelf 42". Being able to just wipe it off and go is also a nice bonus of it being synthetic.
Summary: In general a good quality saddle for a reasonable price. It definitely fits those REALLY wide drafts with few or no options other than custom.
While this saddle will take the white and red gullets from standard Wintecs, the use of these gullets in the Wintec Wide will not give you the same fit as a standard Wintec with those same gullets. If you have a standard horse that is just round, perhaps a standard Wintec with a red or white gullet is all you need. But if you have a draft, or similar large breed, you need the extra chamber width that the Wintec Wide provides.
